Claude Desktop

Last verified: 2026-07-21

Works on every plan, with the same connector setup as claude.ai — even from the desktop app, the connection runs through Anthropic's cloud, not your local machine. That's good news: you add Manyreach once and it's available everywhere you're signed in to Claude — desktop, web, and the mobile apps.

Prerequisites

  • A Manyreach account + your API key (Manyreach web app → API & Integrations)
  • Claude Desktop installed, on any plan. Free is capped at one custom connector total.
  • Team / Enterprise: an Owner (or Primary Owner) must add the connector for the organization before other members can connect to it.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors (may appear as Customize → Connectors on some accounts — Anthropic's own docs use both labels for the same screen).
  2. Click Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it (e.g. "Manyreach") and paste the server URL: https://mcp.manyreach.com/mcp
  4. Leave Advanced settings (the Client ID / Secret fields) empty — and the newer Request headers section too, if your account shows one. Manyreach and Claude set all of that up between themselves.
  5. Click Add, then Connect.

Team / Enterprise: an Owner or Primary Owner adds it once for the whole organization under Admin settings → ConnectorsAddCustomWeb. Members then find it under Settings → Connectors and click Connect.

What the authorization looks like

Your browser opens a Manyreach authorization page. Paste your API key there and click Authorize. The key is checked once and never shown to the AI — afterwards the connection stays signed in on its own.

Verify

Ask Claude to "describe the Manyreach catalog". It should call the describe tool and list resources like campaign, prospect, and sender.

Troubleshooting

  • Shows "Connected" but tool calls fail — the sign-in has likely gone stale (it should refresh itself, but expiry hiccups are still reported on both web and desktop); disconnect and reconnect under Settings → Connectors, and keep the app updated.
  • Tempted to edit claude_desktop_config.json — don't: that file is only for local MCP servers. A remote connector like Manyreach is added entirely in the Settings UI, no file edits.
  • "Connector limit reached" on Free — Free plans allow one custom connector; remove another one or upgrade.
  • Team/Enterprise members can't find the connector — an Owner or Primary Owner has to add it at the organization level first.
  • Key rejected on the authorization page — double-check the API key in the Manyreach web app and that your Manyreach plan includes API access.
